AUDACIOUS HOPE and TRUST In 2024
Found in a Community of Connection
As we end the old year and begin the new one, we come together in crisis — and celebration. In the face of crisis, communities unite. Differences are put aside, and people focus on the common need and the common good.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live this way of life 24/7?
You may say I’m a dreamer … though what makes it possible is an Ancient Blueprint that has been largely forgotten yet is ever-present. Along with our instinct for survival is an equally strong spiritual impulse to connect in universal kinship.
In these times, it may seem we are a long, long way off from that. And yet this desire to connect in mutual benefit is universal and longs to be expressed.
That is my hope, with a deep trust in what’s coming in 2024 – that as we face the intertwined wicked crises that some have called a slow-motion apocalypse -- the spirit of UNIVERSAL KINSHIP that humanity shares will RISE.
In 2024, let’s be strong in ourselves and strong for each other.
In 2024, it’s a time to embody even greater courage and love not just to survive but also to thrive in this time of great change. It doesn’t matter that society seems to be going crazy!
What matters is WHAT we do in response.
What matters is HOW we are, standing up for our principles and character, not what others do.
What matters is that we STEP UP, holding space for ourselves AND holding space for others to spread the Highest Goodness we can bring forth.
If you are reading this post, you may have already heard the call to beautify and unite the hearts of humanity. A new spirit is emerging amidst collapsing narratives and decaying structures.
If the old center cannot hold, it’s up to us to come together around a new center -- a singular unifying power that transcends all appearances and all divisions.
St. Maximus the Confessor, an Eastern Orthodox monk 1,400 years ago, pointed to this Power with his simple “mission statement” for humanity and for each of us: “the fulfilling power of love that gathers together what has been separated…. to Gather the Cosmos Together in Love.”
The Jewish tradition’s Tikkun Olam points to this same Power – healing the world by bringing the fragments that have been previously separated — together.
Let’s celebrate a truly NEW year where we become living expressions of UNIVERSAL KINSHIP and UNIVERSAL BENEFIT - UNITING our communities.
